Students receive a solid foundation in business objectives and processes and are provided with an understanding of perspectives that form the context of business including: ethical and global issues; the influence of political, social, legal, regulatory, environmental, and technological issues; and the impact of demographic diversity on organizations. The General Business Administration program is offered in-class and through distance learning instruction.

Learning Outcomes

Graduates with a concentration in General Business Administration from UH West O‘ahu will be able to:

  • Demonstrate quantitative, technological, and analytical skills necessary for problem solving in the field of business administration.

Careers and Earning Potential

General Business Administration students benefit from a broad educational experience that is relevant to many functional areas in the private or public sector, self-employment and entrepreneurship, and are well-prepared to meet the challenges of an ever-changing global marketplace. The program is a great foundation for a wide range of careers in sales, project management, business development, retail, government, education, human resource management, finance, accounting, information technology and much more. Graduates are also well prepared to pursue advanced degrees such as a Master of Business Administration or Accountancy.

The UH West O‘ahu Business Club provides a great venue for students who share a common interest in business administration studies to participate in community service projects, company tours, non-profit fundraisers and attend lectures by guest speakers from the local business community. The club helps to facilitate an increased understanding of business and provides opportunities for social gatherings and networking with existing industry professionals.
